Radio
I am currently employed as a technical operative for Bauer Media Audio Ireland, working chiefly with brands such as Newstalk, Ireland’s only commercial all-talk station, and Off The Ball, the leading multi-platform sports media brand. As a sound engineer and vision mixer I help to facilitate the needs of each shows production team when creating content for live radio, online steaming and social media platforms.
While working with iRadio, the leading youth music station across the North East, Midlands and North West of Ireland, I had the opportunity to gain experience in lots of different areas. I was responsible for compiling brand appraisal packages for commercial partners. I edited audio for celebrity interviews and special segments like Michaela Hayes’ Tik-Tok Tuesdays make up reviews. I also scripted and recorded content for a weekly Thirsty Thursday segment where I presented pick up lines for listeners As Gaeilge.
While working with eirewave, the digital pop pock station, I presented the afternoon music show from Monday to Friday. I also researched and recorded music news updates.
During my time studying radio in college I had the chance to spend my Erasmus in Malta working with Bay 89.7, the country’s most popular radio station. While there I learned a great deal about the theory behind programming music in a top 40 station. I researched and wrote pop culture articles for their website and social media pages. I also took part in production meetings for the stations lunchtime show.
